How did you spend your Labor Day holiday?

Over this past Labor Day, I tackled a "simple" kitchen faucet replacement project to reduce my growing "honey do list". After my wife selected the replacement faucet at a nearby hardware store, I spent the next several hours unscrewing, disconnecting, removing and ultimately changing the existing faucet unit. While I am no licensed plumber, I am fairly handy with tools and have done my fair share of toilet and sink repairs over the years. Needless to say, regardless of how simple any DIY project seems, there are always unforeseen complications (e.g. the hot water shut off valve no longer completely stops the water flow!!!).

As long as there are homeowners and DIYs, situations will arise where the services of a plumber, electrician, HVAC technician, etc. are required. So whether you installed a dimmer switch and caused your light fixure to become inoperable, or you installed a new toilet and forgot to seal the toilet wax ring, these home services concepts continue to be an integral part of homeownership whether the economy is hot or not!
